I'm Sarah.  This blog, like me, is kind of all over the place.  A little bit of this, a little bit of that.  Basically it chronicles my life and my interests:  homeschooling and parenting, clean eating, sewing, photography and art, living slow, graphic design, music, growing my faith, home decor... and anything else that might catch my fancy!

Educating at Home- October Update

As I mentioned in my previous post, I was extremely busy in the last couple of weeks with refining my designs for this year's collection of Christmas cards, and then getting getting the cards, order form, and information onto the Honeybee & Peony website.

We have been getting some homeschooling in too...  in fact, even saying that phrase makes me a little uncomfortable.  I truly believe that no matter what we are doing at home my children are learning incredibly valuable lessons every day.  So we may not be hopping from subject to subject in pre-designed curriculums every day, but my children are learning how to get along with each other, appreciate the world outside that God has created, and taking care of other people- just to name a few.

Our family verse is Colossians 3:12-14: "Therefore, as God's chosen people, holy and dearly loved, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness, and patience.  Bear with each other and forgive whatever grievances you may have against one another.  Forgive as the Lord forgave you.  And over all these virtues, put on love, which binds them all together in perfect unity."  I have it written on a chalkboard right outside of our kitchen doorway, so I see it often.  These are the things I want my children to learn, know, and witness.  It is a tall order, but what a thing to strive for!

And to see the wonders in every God-given day.
